Julian Koenig, widely regarded as one of the 20th century’s most innovative advertising writers — a creative force behind an array of memorable and let’s face it classic ad campaigns, including the 1960s American press advertising for the original Volkswagen Beetle, Karmann Ghia and Bus — died last Thursday in Manhattan.
